Pleas in the theft cases from one year ago at Lake Waconda. The recommended sentence for 38-year-old Loren Colliers of Lincoln will be not less than 20 months and not more than four years in the Nebraska Department of Corrections on each of three convictions. The plea agreement contains the recommendation that the sentences be served concurrently.
The Cassgram reports Colliers had originally been charged with three Class III Felonies and one Class IV Felony for the theft of two trailers and two ATVs from Lake Waconda early last December. He pled guilty to one Class III Felony theft count and two Class IV Felony theft counts as part of the plea agreement.
Another part of the agreement is that Colliers make $600 restitution to one of the victims by the sentencing date of January 22nd. There will then be $3400 owed in payments by Colliers. However, if Colliers does not come up with the $600 by sentencing, the prosecution will be free to argue for consecutive sentences.
It is a companion case to that of 26-year-old Jeremy Jakub of Lake Waconda who was sentenced to not less than 20 months and not more than 4 years in the Nebraska Department of Corrections last July. Both men were involved in the same thefts at Lake Waconda.
