A failure to appear conviction extends a prison stay for a 30-year-old Lincoln man. David Notaro received a one year sentence for the Class IV Felony conviction. Notaro did not appear for a court hearing in Cass County in October. He was scheduled to appear for taking a vehicle from his girlfriend’s house in Eagle.
The Cassgram reports Cass County District Court Judge Randall Rehmeier said Notaro’s criminal record is now five to six pages long. Notaro told Rehmeier he usually appears for his hearings but just happened to miss that October hearing.
Notaro is currently serving a three to five year sentence for felony DUI in Lancaster County and he was recently sentenced to one year for attempted possession of a controlled substance. That sentence, also out of Lancaster County, will be served after the DUI sentence.
When Notaro has completed the attempted possession sentence, he will then begin serving his one year sentence from the Cass County conviction. Rehmeier also sentenced Nataro to 90 days for unauthorized use of the vehicle but allowed that to be served concurrently with the failure to appear conviction.
