An elderly woman once described as a serial tire slasher has been arrested again. Not for vandalism but criminal trespass.
69 year old Lois Pope was arrested Tuesday afternoon by an Omaha police detective. She had been spotted twice in the past month by Nebraska Medical Center Security driving through an employee only parking garage.
Eleven years ago Pope was convicted of slashing or puncturing an estimated 50 tires. She served several months behind bars for the repeated vandalism.
In 2000 a victim told Channel Six News Reporter Mike McKnight that Pope had a misguided vendetta against anyone she didn’t like.
Police didn't find evidence of any vehicles vandalized this time. A detective said pope has a relative who works on the Medical Center campus.
