Two occurred in the Highway 75 construction zone. There have now been six accidents in about the same area during the past several weeks.
The Cassgram on Monday about 3:30pm, deputies, Plattsmouth EMS and Plattsmouth Volunteer Fire Department responded to a three-vehicle injury accident on U.S. Highway 75 near Gladys Drive. Cass County Sheriff Wm. C. Brueggemann says a 2004 Ford Freestar van driven by Barbara Rimington-Acuff, age 76 of Plattsmouth, was southbound on Highway 75 when it failed to slow for stopped traffic and crashed into the back end of a 2003 Jeep Liberty, The Jeep was pushed into the back of a 2008 Pontiac G5. All three vehicles sustained damage.
Rimington-Acuff complained of chest pain and was transported by rescue squad to Bellevue Medical Center Hospital, said Brueggemann. The other drivers were not injured.
---A non-injury accident in the southbound lanes just north of the Bay Road traffic lights caused a major traffic slowdown during rush hour late Friday afternoon. One vehicle struck the rear of another vehicle. A disabled pickup blocked a lane and all traffic was directed around the truck causing delays of up to an hour for many southbound motorists.
