Attending rock concerts may be a rite of passage for teenagers, but those loud tunes could be damaging their hearing.
A small new study reveals 72-percent of teens had reduced hearing after a three hour concert.
Twenty-five percent of those had tinnitus -- or a ringing of the ears.
While most of this hearing loss is temporary, regular exposure to noise over 85 decibels can cause permanent damage.
Researchers say more studies need to be done to determine if teenagers' ears are more sensitive than adults' ears.
