Back from a funeral in California, the Mirante family is coming home to an unfortunate sight.
"Looks like we came home to a crushed car, and the inability to get into the house, because the tree is blocking the whole front," said Kathy Mirante.
Luckily, a small path to the garage and a working garage remote allowed the Mirante's to get inside.
They've only lived in the neighborhood two months.
"It's looks like it's been a rocky start," said Kathy.
They knew the storm had hit Omaha, but never thought to see the tremendous amount of damage when they pulled up.
"We weren't expecting this," said Vern Mirante.
They are renting the house, so the repairs won't be theirs to fix.
The car on the other hand is a different story. It isn't brand new, but they said they recently put a lot of work into it.
"Four new tires and a new suspension system, because of course I have this new job, time to get the car fixed, that's just bad timing that's all," said Kathy Mirante.
