Credit Union robbery closer to being solved. The police chief confirms that one of the individuals labeled a “person of interest” in the case is in custody on a charge unrelated to the incident.
The investigation into the December 7th early morning robbery at Sac Federal Credit Union in Plattsmouth “has been the top priority of this department since it happened,” says Plattsmouth Police Chief Steve Rathman. Investigators from the PD, the Cass County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI are working toward the “whole goal—the successful prosecution of those involved.”
The focus remains local and new information has continued to be uncovered in the last three weeks.
The Cassgram reports Rathman says a search warrant was served at a mobile home location in Plattsmouth on Christmas Eve but didn’t turn up any new evidence in the case. A search warrant had previously been served at another location on December 8th.
“Numerous” individuals have been questioned and the chief says a person of interest has been in jail for some time but has not been charged on any counts related to the robbery.
Rathman says he is “very confident” about the investigative process leading to charges and the investigation is to the point where formal affidavits are being prepared for review by the county attorney’s office.
