Students at western Nebraska's Gordon-Rushville Public Schools skip class to attend a local boy's funeral.
The district's classes were canceled Thursday to observe the funeral of 12-year old Matt Jaggers, a seventh-grader who was killed in a car crash on Feb. 21.
Administrators opted to call off classes because a large number of students and teachers planned to attend the service.
Matt died when the vehicle his mother was driving went out of control in snowy conditions and slid into the path of an oncoming truck. Matt's 10-year-old sister was seriously injured in the crash.
