A small bit of snow covered an already packed city on Thursday. It’s only been a week since last week's snow storm. And the city is still working to clean up the mess it left behind.

Ryne Weaver is still digging out from the storm. He lives near 156th and Maple and says roads around his neighborhood aren’t good.

“The roads used to be very well kept. They've gone through a couple of times. There is some mounts you can see through out neighborhood a little bit but they are pretty rough,” said Weaver.

That’s a problem that the city is trying to address.

“The condition varies quite a bit form good clear streets to streets that have good snow pack and frozen snow pack,” said Scott McIntye. “The best thing we can do is to go back and continue to treat those areas until Mother Nature helps us out here.”

He says the city is no longer using contractors to clear roads. But admits those smaller trucks didn't cover as much ground, especially since the first snow was wet and froze quickly. Still, he says they have 70 to 80 plows available to help clear roads.

But Weaver isn’t happy about the current conditions.

“You can definitely tell the difference between this year and last year,” said Weaver. “The roads are pretty rough. There are a lot of pockets where you kind get kicked around.”

Mayor Suttle says if you have any complaints about your street, snap a photo and use their app to submit the location. He says that's one of the fastest and easiest ways to get a crew out to your neighborhood.

You can find the Omaha City App in your smartphone’s app store. If you don't have a smart phone, you can also call the Mayor Hotline at 402-444-5555.
