Those living east of 72nd Street who did not heed the city's warning to park on odd and even sides of the street during the snow emergency are now opening their pocketbooks to pay the ticket.
According to Omaha Public Works, 225 tickets were given out. The ticket carries at $50 fine.
The snow emergency started Thursday night at midnight and ended Saturday at noon. During that time, all vehicles parking on streets east of 72nd are required to park on the odd address side on odd calendar days and on the even side on even calendar days.
Other parking no-nos include intersections, crosswalks, within 15 feet of fire hydrants, in front of a driveway and within 30 feet of an intersection.
No vehicles were towed because of violations.
