The Gage County, Nebraska sheriff’s office is investigating a church burglary. The good news is that nothing significant was taken. The bad news is that whoever had a hunger for their Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups left at the church will have to get another one.

Sometime between 1pm Sunday and 10am Monday, someone threw a brick through a window of the Methodist Church at 112 West Broad Street in Blue Springs, Nebraska.

A cash box was found opened. Church staff informed investigators that they don’t keep money at the church, so the burglar would have found nothing inside.

Church staff was able to determine that the burglar ate the candy while in the church.

Anyone with information about who might be responsible for damage done to the church is asked to call the Gage County Sheriff’s office at (402) 223-5221. Ask for Investigators John Chavez or call Crimestoppers at (402) 228-4343.

Those who provide a tip can remain anonymous. If the information provided leads to an arrest and conviction of whoever is responsible could be eligible for a cash reward.
