Curtis Hagemeier & Nick Janes were arrested in Lincoln. Police say they were in possession of a Chrysler 300 which had been stolen twice in August 2011.
There must be something about the Chrysler 300 that is attracting thieves. On Monday morning, CarMart in Lincoln reported the theft of a Chrysler 300 from its lot. The same vehicle was stolen during a burglary earlier in August.
Acting on a hunch, Lincoln police searched the area of 16th & D as they looked for the car. That is where the vehicle was recovered the first time it was stolen. This time, their hunch worked. It was found parked behind 1626 D Street. Sitting inside the vehicle was 22-year old Curtis Hagemeier. He was arrested without incident.
A second suspect was found a short distance away. Police say 36-year old Nick Janes resisted arrest. Janes injured two officers during a scuffle. Both suspects were arrested for possession of stolen property. Police also found them to be in possession of methamphetamine.
