A woman home alone was startled on Christmas Eve day when strangers kicked in her front door.
Initial calls from police dispatchers said several men -- two of them with guns visible -- had forced their way into a home.
It turns out a 68 year old woman was in her home near 87th and Lafayette when someone repeatedly knocked on her door. The woman told officers she didn't answer it because she was not presentable.
A short time later the door flew open and two men with guns rushed inside. They were apparently as startled as the woman living there because they saw her standing at the top of the stairs and turned around and rushed back out.
The men took off in a black SUV. Police had a very limited description of the suspects.
The woman was not injured.
Police at the scene did tell WOWT 6 News reporter Gary Smollen the SUV may have been used as the getaway vehicle in several other burglaries this Christmas season.
