Child Unharmed After Two Story Fall Out of a Window

Darsey Soaz is 21 months old and as curious as can be.

After only spending just a few moments with her, anyone can see out active she is.

"We always take her off of the table, she loves climbing," said Nini Stephen, mother.

But Darsey's curiosity almost got the best of her on Saturday, June 15th.

Because of the heat, Darsey's mother opened a window in the bedroom while Darsey ate breakfast. Shortly after, curious Darsey left her bottle and climbed up to the window from a nightstand.

She then pushed out the screen of the second story window and then tumbled twelve feet down onto this bed of rocks.

Her mother didn't see her fall, but she did hear her cries.

"I heard her call, call mom," said Stephen.

Stephen rushed outside and found Darsey on the gravel in shock, without a tear in her eye.

But the tumble gave Stephen such a scare, she began crying the second she saw Darsey safe.

"When we were crying, she started crying," said Stephen.

A witness called 911 and Darsey was rushed to Creighton Medical Center where she got an X-ray and CT scan.

"They said there was no broken bones or anything, so we really thank God," said Stephen.

Just two days later, Darsey is still as active as ever.

She is a lucky girl after such a long fall.

Stephen said to make sure Darsey can't get to the window again, they relocated the beds and took away the bedside table.

"We especially thank god, it's really a miracle," said Stephen.
