Bellevue Police Chief John Stacey has been placed on paid administrative leave.
Bellevue City Administrator Dan Berlowitz says it is related to a personnel issue and cannot comment any further.
Capt. Mark Elbert has been named acting chief.
Stacey, who has been with the Bellevue Police Department for more than 30 years, has also served as a volunteer firefighter for Bellevue.
Sources tell Channel Six it was for something Stacey said to a tour group at the police station.
We’ve been told the Bellevue City Council was not notified that Chief Stacey was placed on administrative leave.
