To enhance response time for air transportation to the Bryan Trauma Center, Bryan Heart, and Bryan Medical Center, Bryan will transfer operation of its air ambulance service to Air Methods.

Air Methods will move the home base for the helicopter, currently based in Lincoln, to Crete Area Medical Center in Crete, Nebraska. The transition of operations to Air Methods begins on January 23, 2014, with the helicopter relocating to Crete in April.

Air Methods and Bryan Medical Center have jointly operated the air ambulance service in the Lincoln area for years.

Air Methods provides medical transport services throughout the country and currently transports patients to Bryan Medical Center from bases in Norfolk, Fremont, Omaha and St. Joseph, MO.

Additionally, other helicopter services located in Columbus, Hastings, Grand Island, North Platte and Clarinda, IA also transport patients to Bryan Medical Center.

Both the Bryan East Campus and the Bryan West Campus will continue to maintain heliports and be ready to receive patients from Air Methods and all other air transport providers in the region.
