CSM Foundation Day
The College of Saint Mary is celebrating the creation of the order responsible for the school.
On Dec. 12, 1831, Catherine McAuley and two companions took vows to become the first Sisters of Mercy.
Ever since, Mercy communities celebrate December 12th as Foundation Day, honoring the anniversary of the founding of the Sisters of Mercy.
This year the College of Saint Mary community celebrates 181 years of dedicated service by the Sisters with a special Mass at 12:05 p.m. on Wednesday, December 12 in Our Lady of Mercy Chapel – College of Saint Mary campus.
This event is open to the public.
