Busy Weekend For Emergency Responders

Law enforcement and fire and rescue responders were called to seven accidents.

Weeping Water Fire and Rescue responded to two accident situations: a car/deer collision on Highway 50 south of the intersection with Highway 34 last Friday morning, and a situation where a woman was injured in a field near Adams Street north of Highway 34 Saturday afternoon. The 62-year-old had fallen off a horse.

Union and Nehawka fire and rescue volunteers were called to an ATV accident involving injuries on West Shore Drive at Lake Waconda Friday evening.

Greenwood Fire and Rescue responded to four calls: An accident on 250th Street north of Church Road Friday afternoon; an injury accident on I-80 Sunday morning; a vehicle fire in I-80 and a non-injury accident at the weigh scales on I-80.

Plattsmouth Fire and Plattsmouth EMS responded to a two-vehicle collision on Oak Hill Road just west of Highway 75 late Sunday afternoon. No one had injuries requiring rescue transport. One driver was issued a citation for following too closely.
