Contracted awarded to improve a busy byway. Pavers Inc. of Lincoln was given the contract for a milling and asphalt overlay. The work on Webster Boulevard from the Plattsmouth city limits north to the new paving is to be done in the spring.
The Cassgram reports Pavers’ bid was $489,960. There were five bidders on the project.
The state rebuilt the northern half of Webster as part of the Highway 75 Expansion Project. It was closed to traffic for a few weeks in late summer as the tie-in was made.
All of Webster remains a Cass County road and falls under the maintenance schedule of the county roads department, as does Bay Road. The county will also be maintaining the new overpass that will connect Bay Road and Webster Boulevard.
Webster Boulevard north of Plattsmouth handles about 5,000 vehicles a day to make it the busiest road on the county schedule.
