A gravel road being used as a short cut is causing a rocky relationship between neighbors and Cass County Officials.

"Very busy, yeah there's a lot of traffic on the road," Mark Morgan says.

The road has caused a dust up between some who live along it and the County Roads Department. "This is just an accident waiting to happen. Eventually somebody is going to turn sideways on the washboard road and somebody is going to get t-boned," Morgan said.

The neighbors complain that the road often looks like a washboard. After a call from Channel Six a grader came out to level the road but neighbors say the road needs to be paved as a permanent solution.

Neighbors say they can't have windows open any time of the year because of all the dust. "The best solution I would think would be to just pave it and get it done with instead of trying to keep maintaining it," Ken Brenneman said.

The roads director says a million dollars has been cut from his budget so any paving is well down the road.
