The College World Series isn’t just exciting for fans, but also businesses in the area.
In the Old Market shops are preparing for the rush. At Overland’s they put up a CWS sign and a bracket on their window. They’re hoping to entice baseball fans to come in. They said usually CWS week means a rise in sales.
"We probably expect to raise business by at least 25 to 50 percent, just kind of depending on again, the weather plays a factor, but it's a huge jump for us and it's something we absolutely look forward to every year,” said manager Lindsey Westervelt.
Some businesses in the Old Market say they haven’t gotten as much business since CWS moved from Rosenblatt to TD Ameritrade, but still they expect more people shopping in the area.
