Burglary Suspects Tracked Down By Land And Air

Omaha's police helicopter helped track down two burglary suspects Saturday morning.

Police were called to 113th and Evans to investigate a report of glass breaking. An officer on the ground spotted the suspect’s vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed around 1:30 a.m. and tried to pull it over at 108th and Center, but the driver wouldn’t stop.

The helicopter followed the speeding car to 92nd and Mockingbird where it stopped and the two men inside got out and ran, but were soon captured.

Police found stolen items and burglary tools inside the vehicle. A vehicle parked at 113th and Evans had been broken into, its window smashed.

Twenty-two-year-old Zachery Moore was booked for felony flight to avoid arrest, possession of burglary tools, driving under suspension, obstruction and destruction of property. His passenger, 26-year-old Matthew Jorgenson, was booked for possession of burglary tools, obstruction, destruction of property and possession of marijuana.
