Lincoln police have captured the burglary suspect they have been looking for since July. Thirty-one-year-old Thomas Stefkovich is accused of committing a variety of crimes from July 17th through September 20th.
Stefkovich was the subject of two public pleas for help from Lincoln Crimestoppers. We have attached a series of surveillance pictures that were provided by police during their investigation.
In one case, a bearded man went to four different car washes with a backpack of tools. He used the tools to break into the quarter-operated vacuums and stole all the money.
In the other series of pictures, a man hid his face with a hooded sweatshirt and some sort of scarf as he broke into a bill changer at a car wash. The surveillance video showed that he spent 25 minutes trying to pry it open with three different tools. His attempt was a failure.
Stefkovich was arrested Monday on two counts of burglary and possession of a controlled substance. He was also cited for five counts of criminal mischief and three counts of theft.
