Omaha police report that they stopped a burglary in progress late Monday night at N. 25th Avenue and Whitmore Street.
When officers arrived, they found two men and a woman inside the home and a stolen car parked out front. All three suspects were taken into custody and booked on multiple charges.
Thirty-two-year-old Joseph Hellman was arrested for Theft by Receiving over $1500, Criminal Impersonation, Trespassing, Obstructing an Officer and a warrant for Felony Theft by Deception. The other man, 32-year-old Jesse Cantrell, was booked for Forgery, Trespassing, Possession of Marijuana less than one ounce and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
The female taken into custody was identified as 30-year-old Beth-Anne Riskowski. She was cited for trespassing.
Omaha police had been looking for Hellman in connection to Craigslist scam that WOWT 6 News Fact Finders first reported on September 27. In that case, he allegedly posed as a landlord and took money from a woman who wanted to rent from him.
