Burglar Gets Prison Time

Burglar gets prison time.

Scott Tingelhoff, Saunders County Attorney, reports Brandon Newburn was sentenced to serve a term of imprisonment of not less than 20 months nor more than 60 months with the Department of Corrections following his conviction of Attempted Burglary in the Saunders County District Court. Brandon Newburn was also sentenced to serve a term of imprisonment of not less than 20 months nor more than 60 months with the Department of Corrections following his conviction of Theft by Unlawful Taking in the Saunders County District Court. These sentences shall be served consecutively.

On February 12, 2013 an officer with the Wahoo Police Department was dispatched to talk to a landlord about missing appliances from the house he rented out to Newburn. Newburn stole a refrigerator, and an air conditioner.

On March 18, 2013, an officer with the Wahoo Police Department responded to a report of a possible burglary. When the officer arrived Newburn was already gone but the individual was able to identify Newburn as he was an employee of the victim.
