Omaha firefighters requested additional crews after four brush pile fires burned down a barn late Monday morning.
The fire started in the brush piles, around 10:30 in the area of 165th and Fort; however, it quickly spread to a nearby barn.
According to emergency dispatchers, the barn quickly went up in flames and the vacant home on the property was in danger.
Neighbors worried that a spark could start their homes on fire.
The Omaha Fire Department approved the burn permit for the brush piles -- with stipulations.
However, investigators have questions as to whether the requirements were followed.
The Fire Marshal will be handling the investigation.
