The Salvation Army will try to lift the spirits of families separated by prison walls this holiday season. A gift and a note will be delivered from parent to child in hopes of bringing families closer together.
“To be able to have something from mom or dad at Christmas time is so important and you want both the parent and the child to be able to experience that even though they have some difficult circumstances they're going through at the holiday time,” said Salvation Army Major Judy Tekautz.
The program is funded through the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Donations Program.
