Soon-to-be brides had the chance to find that dream gown and do a lot of good at the same time. Brides Against Breast Cancer rolled into the Sheraton Omaha Hotel this weekend with thousands of gowns on display and selling at a discount.
Part of the proceeds goes to support cancer patients and their families. The group closed up shop Sunday, but organizer Amy Paulishak said there are still plenty of ways to help.
“When Brides Against Breast Cancer comes back to the community, we hope that brides-to-be will come out and support the event, volunteer and if you've already said ‘I do,’ you can donate your gown to Brides Against Breast Cancer for a tax donation."
All of the dresses are donated. Some are re-purposed, many are brand new, samples donated from big name designers.
