Gov. Terry Branstad is joining with real estate groups in announcing a new drive to focus on the importance of home ownership.

He says Iowa has one of the nation's highest home ownership rates, and that's good for Iowa's economy.

At his weekly news conference Monday, Branstad joined with the Iowa Finance Authority and the Iowa Association of Realtors in asking their clients to submit in a phrase that best describes the meaning of owning a home. A competition this summer to determine the winner.

Branstad says the contest underscores the importance of home ownership.

Iowa Finance Authority head Dave Jamison says the state agency has helped 60,000 Iowans attain ownership. He says the contest is a
good way to remind people of the benefits of home ownership.
