If you enjoy history there's a display at Boys Town that will stick in your mind.
It’s a stamp collection commemorating great people in black history at the Boys Town Visitor Center at 137th Street and West Dodge Road. These are stamps licked and posted on the first day of being issued by the U.S. Postal Service.
The famous names range from athletes like Jessie Owens to historical figures such as Omaha native Malcolm X and Frederick Douglass. “We do this every year, but yes it's a little unique to have the stamps and all the people in history that are African-American,” says Boys Town’s Mary Huard.
The display is in the same room as the world's largest ball of stamps, more than four million of them from all over the world.
