Four-year-old Brady Luke was named the 2012 Nebraska Champion Monday morning. This means he will be an ambassador for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Champions Program.
Brady was born with a complex congenital heart defect, hypoplastic left heart syndrome. Children’s Hospital in Omaha says Brady has undergone several surgeries and will require additional procedures as he grows.
The announcement was made at Eppley Airfield Monday morning. Brady appeared with his family and members of the Creighton University men’s basketball team. See the attached pdf file for the photo.
By being selected as an ambassador, Brady is identified as a child who has a remarkable medical story to tell. An ambassador is chosen from each state to represent the 17 million children being treated every year at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
The Champions and their families travel to Orlando, Florida and Washington, D.C. to highlight the work being done at children’s hospitals.
