A fight between two boys got out of hand Wednesday afternoon as Omaha police were called after one fired a BB gun at the other.
It happened near 56th and Sprague. The pellet hit the boys' eye, cutting it up. “Being at work and then having to come home to my son having his eye shot out with a gun, you know a kid at that age, he shouldn't even have a BB gun,” said the victim’s mother, Shannon Triplett.
Channel 6 News checked with Canfield’s sporting goods. They sell BB guns, but only to those 18 and older. The salesman said as far as he knows, there's no "official" age limit on the books in Omaha.
