An altercation at Bellevue East High School Friday afternoon turned out to be more of a scare than a serious threat.
Authorities have determined that what was believed to have been a Taser injury was nothing of the sort.
It was initially believed that one student had injured another with a Taser but when the incident was sorted out, police said a 14-year-old Bellevue East student took off his Probation Tracker and touched a 16-year-old Bellevue East student with the device. The victim and friends at the scene thought it was a weapon and called authorities.
The 14-year-old will be charged with 3rd Degree Assault.
The incident took place outside the high school shortly after a 1:20 early dismissal for an In Service Training Day.
The call for an ambulance was received at 1:53.
