A church is frustrated after another burglary, the second one in three weeks.
It was a sign that’s getting too familiar for Pastor Charles Davis.
“Well I just though, 'Here we go again,'” he says.
It was another burglary at Spirit Life Assemblies of God Church, near 48th and Harrison in Bellevue.
“And of course, when I came up to the door, I realized the glass was broken, and it was glass laying on the ground,” Davis says.
In the firs theft, the burglars took a laptop and a small amount of money.
This time, burglars came back with tools, busting into this file cabinet, reinforced by concrete. The church says, this is its biggest concern, it’s full of important documents.
They also broke into a safe, which was empty.
“To my knowledge, I don’t think they took anything. We might find something in the next couple of days,” Davis says.
The church has been making preparations to install a security system.
Davis says if it was a week later, this might have been different.
Police believe the incidents are so similar, it could be the same burglars.
Pastor Davis wants it to stop.
“Obviously, we care about them as people, so I mean, they need to get their lives together and get a better life than this, but we need to protect ourselves better.”
Right now, Spirit Life Assemblies of God Church doesn’t believe the burglars took anything important, but says replacing the door could cost around $400.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Bellevue Police.
