A Beatrice man has been sentenced to prison for having sex with a 13-year-old girl.
Twenty-one-year-old Jarod Stream was sentenced on Wednesday to 3 to 5 years in prison for first-degree sexual assault of a child and a one-year term for enticing a child by electronic means. A Gage County judge ordered the sentences be served consecutively.
Defense attorney Darrin Knepper sought probation, citing in part, Stream's age and lack of criminal background.
Stream pleaded no contest in March. He was accused of enticing the teenager on Facebook. District Judge Paul Korslund says Stream lied about his age, saying he was 17 when he knew the girl was 13.
