County to help in Fletcher Avenue improvements through the Village of Alvo. The road is in poor condition and a representative of the Alvo Village Board came before the Cass County Board of Commissioners in recent months asking for some help from county for the road that runs east-west through the village. The village was seeking any funds the county could commit and having the county onboard could also help the village in obtaining grant funds for a portion of its repair costs and possibly lead to grant funds that can be used on other streets in the village.
The Cassgram reports the county board was told the county has a history of helping in situations where a road through a community is also one of the more major county roads on each end of the community.
The county board passed a motion to participate with the Village of Alvo for 50% up to $250,000 for the cost of the Fletcher improvements if the village could match it with a loan or a grant.
