Autopsy completed in shooting case. The Cass County Sheriff’s Department says reports on the fatal shooting early Sunday morning at Wabash are being forwarded to the county attorney’s office. The autopsy on the body of 61-year-old Gary Bouzek (no permanent address) was done on Tuesday. The toxicology reports are still pending.
The Cassgram reports Bouzek was shot to death after 3am Sunday when, according to the press release from the sheriff’s department, Bouzek was trying to break in to the residence of his son, 36-year-old David Bouzek.
Apparently the Bouzeks had not spoken for many years until the father made contact with the son again about three months ago.
The sheriff’s department press release contained little information about the actual shooting incident and Cass County Attorney Nathan Cox does not want to comment on specifics until he has thoroughly reviewed the report. He said it “could take me awhile” to review the report and state law to determine whether it was justifiable self defense or should be prosecuted as a criminal act.
