Assault Investigation Expands

WOWT 6 News has confirmed that a metro teen accused of two sex and strangulation cases is being investigated for a possible third crime.

The suspect is 17-year-old Kyle Ferraguti. He was expelled from Elkhorn High School last year and enrolled at Bryan High. Police are withholding his picture, waiting to see if there are other victims. Bellevue Police think they may have one.

The first case dates back to December when Ferraguti called an escort service, and there was a disagreement over price. As the escort attempted to leave, he allegedly grabbed her by the neck, threw her against a railing, and tried to take off her clothes.

Ferraguti was prosecuted as an adult for the December crime. He pleaded guilty to reduced charges and in return Sarpy County dropped a couple of other charges. He could get up to two years in prison when he's sentenced later this month.

Sarpy County Attorney Lee Polikov said, "She didn't want to testify. She was afraid of him."

Investigators felt it was the right move so the 17-year-old victim didn't have to testify.

Polikov said, "People say, ‘Why did you give him a plea bargain on the first one?’ We get accountability and the admission of the crime."

In addition, the court found Ferraguti to be a danger to himself as a teenager and tried to get him counseling, but he never went.

He also removed his electronic ankle bracelet, damaged his grandmother's home where he was staying, packed alcohol in his backpack, and was eventually expelled from Elkhorn High. He has spent three-and-a-half months in the Douglas County Youth Center.

Now investigators say they believe he raped and strangled a teenager on April 28th in Elkhorn. Bellevue police believe they have another case from the same time frame.

Kyle Ferraguti will be sentenced for the December assault later this month. The maximum time he could get is two years.

The Douglas County rape and strangulation case is just underway and no doubt will impact sentencing.
