Army Reserve Sergeant Sentenced For Groping Co-Worker

A judge has sentenced a U.S. Army Reserve sergeant to six months in jail for groping a female co-worker.

Forty-year-old Christopher Hoyt was convicted of third-degree sexual assault, a misdemeanor. His 21-year-old accuser told jurors that Hoyt fondled and groped her for more than a year at the U.S. Army Reserve Center in Lincoln, even after she complained.

Hoyt admitted that he grabbed the woman's buttocks, but said she had grabbed his as well. He will now have to register as a sex offender. His attorney has filed an appeal.

An Army Reserve spokeswoman says military officials worked with Lincoln police because the woman was a civilian. She says Army officials are conducting a separate, internal investigation.
