Police have arrested the man believed to have robbed a Lincoln convenience store Wednesday morning.
A masked man with a knife took money from the U-Stop near Northwest 12th and West Adams streets just after 7 a.m.
During the investigation into the recent string of convenience store robberies, 28-year-old William Deets was identified as a possible suspect. Police say a witness saw a silver car leaving the area of Wednesday’s holdup. That matched the car Deets was known to drive.
Officers found the silver Chevy Impala parked in the 900 block of Court Street, outside the home of a friend of Deets. According to police, clothing matching what the suspect wore during the robbery was located in her apartment. Cash and a knife were also recovered.
Deets was taken to the Lancaster County Jail for robbery and use of a weapon to commit a felony. Police are still investigating his possible involvement in other, similar robberies.
