A significant stretch of Highway 30 will be closed for a short time Thursday morning. It’s another sign of post-flooding progress in western Iowa.
Highway 30 between Missouri Valley, Iowa and Blair, Nebraska will be closed at 10am so crews can remove pumps and other flood-related equipment from the area which are no longer needed. The Iowa Department of Transportation says the work should take about an hour.
A large part of that stretch of Highway 30 is still lined with TrapBags which were installed to keep floodwater from reaching the roadway. Those will remain in place until further notice.
