For the second time this week, a semi got stuck trying to turn under the overpass at 108th and West Center.
The first incident occurred on Monday and then, again, on Wednesday.
The driver, involved in Wednesday's accident, Roy Facklam, told WOWT Fact Finders that this was his first time driving the route.
“It’s a tight turn because it's a narrower street bit I didn't realize the bridge was hanging out like that and was that low."
Facklam was issued two tickets: one for disobeying the sign and another for actually hitting the bridge. He suggested better warning signs for drivers approaching the overpass.
The City Engineer, Todd Pfitzer, told WOWT Fact Finders he had no comment in regard to a solution for the issue.
City experts have determined that the steel structure is sound. It shows barely a scrape.
This is the fourth time this has happened in 2014. The City of Omaha has posted a larger, yellow sign with the clearance information.
