Another victim has come forward in the string of burglaries Channel 6 News first told you about last week.
On Sunday, Kenny Pilgrim told Channel 6 he was the victim of a car burglary. He says his truck was stolen from right in front of his house two weeks ago.
“We didn't hear anything,” says Pilgrim. “There was no broken glass, the keys are inside the house. I don't know how they got into it or how they stole it.”
Pilgrim says he woke up to his newborn crying around 5:30 a.m. He went to make him a bottle, glanced out the window and saw that his truck was gone. The truck was a 1998 green Dodge Ram pickup with a chrome toolbox in the back. Inside the truck was more than $10,000 worth of tools Pilgrim uses for work.
Pilgrim said normally he wouldn't have had those tools with him, but happened to be doing two jobs back to back. So for now, his co-workers let him borrow their tools.
Just four days later and three blocks west was another burglary near 96th and Blondo where Steve Nickels said his house was broken into during the day. And a woman said her car was stolen in a parking lot near 95th and Blondo that same day.
It’s unclear if all the burglaries are related, but Pilgrim says he’s tired of waiting for answers. “It’s been really tough, every time I get out and I’m looking for my truck trying to keep an eye on it. I have friends out looking for it and I just haven't heard anything.”
Pilgrim says he's made several calls to Omaha police, but has yet to hear back.
