Animal Rescue Boutique Approved For Liquor License

A boutique with the goal of saving animals is hoping for a new source of funding.

K9 Lives Rescue Boutique opened up back in November.

It's a shop that sells pet items and home decor, that sends a large portion of proceeds to animal rescues.

Tuesday, owners appeared in front of the Omaha City Council requesting a liquor license, and were approved.

It hopes by selling pet themed wines, it can raise money to help even more animals.

“Our goal as a whole rescue community is to eliminate puppy mills. They need to go away backyard breeders need to go away. These animals that are in puppy mills are used nothing but for breeding,” says Julie Siebler, or K9 Lives Rescue Boutique.

The shop will start off selling only one kind of wine, the Dachshund Riesling, but plans to add more in the future.
