An Omaha Woman's Little Black Dress Project

Lindsey says, “I don't know for what reason, I just felt it laid on my heart.” Lindsey and Nick Tabor have a dog, a house and each other, seemingly living the American dream. They will celebrate their two year wedding anniversary in March.

But Lindsey wanted to do something very unique to help those less fortunate. Lindsey says, "Just what happens to kids when they don't get the proper care and attention, it broke my heart, it really stuck with me."

Lindsey decided to wear this black dress every day for a year to raise awareness and money for two orphanages across the world in eastern Europe; she connected with a volunteer working in the country, but can't tell us who, or where they are.

Lindsey says, "It's kind of a politically unstable area, it's not safe to say a whole lot more than that."

Lindsey says she communicates with her connection at the orphanage through Lindsey’s online blog, there; she says she posts daily updated pictures, blog posts and fields questions about the project.

Lindsey says, "Question, do you sleep in the dress? Answer no, I just wear it during the day.”

Wearing the dress she says, is a small sacrifice. Lindsey says, "We have to take care of them, we have to cherish them, it breaks my heart to think there are children out there who don't know they are loved."
