Suspect picks a fight with a cop.
Scott Tingelhoff, Saunders County Attorney, reports Brandon Ford was charged with 3rd Degree Assault on an Officer, a class IIIA Felony, which has a maximum sentence of up to 5 years imprisonment; Resisting Arrest, a class I Misdemeanor, which has a maximum sentence of 1 year imprisonment; and Minor in Possession of Alcohol, a class III Misdemeanor, which has a maximum sentence of 3 months imprisonment. He is scheduled to appear in the Saunders County Court for Felony First Appearance on November 20, 2012 at 9:00 a.m.
On October 10, 2012, an officer with the Wahoo Police Department noticed Brandon Ford was highly intoxicated and staggering down a public roadway. When the officer pulled up alongside of him, he allegedly became aggressive and began challenging the Officer to fight. When the officer exited his patrol vehicle, Ford came at the Officer aggressively and disregarded his commands. Ford began throwing punches and kicking the arresting officer striking him several times.
