We're only in January, but airfares are already going up for the second time this year.
Airlines are layering on domestic surcharges as Americans get ready to book spring and summer travel.
This week, Delta Airlines initiated the second domestic airfare hike attempt of the year with an increase of four to ten dollars round-trip across much of the U.S.
The increase follows a hike that came last week of up to 20 dollars round-trip.
According to Farecompare.com, those two hikes could be just the beginning of more fare hikes in the months to come.
