Aiming for a Record in the Water

Omaha's Kroc Center wants to pack its pool Friday morning. The goal is to teach a life-saving lesson while breaking a world record.

Swim classes are offered at the Kroc Center year-round but Friday will feature a special class. It’s all part of the world's largest swim lesson.

The effort spans nearly 30 countries.

Here in the metro the back float is one skill kids will learn.

Kroc Center Aquatics Manager Candice Kellogg said, "Getting into that back float is one of the biggest things because you're not exerting energy, able to breathe and able to call for help."

Last June, 32,000 swimmers took part worldwide.

It’s 10 a.m. Friday, June 20th at the Kroc Center.
