Channel 6 has learned new details in the shooting of a mother and her toddler from Council Bluffs.

Ronald Farr, Jr. is behind bars accused of shooting 22-year-old Heather Wilson and her toddler.

According to the affidavit, on Monday Farr showed up unannounced to Wilson’s Council Bluffs apartment, the apartment she shares with her boyfriend, Nathan Underwood. While Farr was there he displayed a handgun, but he ended up leaving.

Wilson and her toddler were then shot in the parking lot of their apartment early Tuesday morning.

Right after the shooting police learned that Farr had been at the scene the day before and witnesses say a white sedan was seen leaving the scene.

Harlan Police then found Farr at his mother’s house in Harlan, Iowa. They say when they arrived on the scene all the cars in the driveway had frost on them, except one, a white Mercury Marquis. They believe that was the car Farr was driving.

Farr and his wife Lisa were taken into custody. Farr doesn’t say anything, but Lisa does. Lisa tells detectives this incident occurred over a $6,000 dollar tax refund of Farr’s. She says Underwood had gotten a hold of it and refused to give it back. Lisa says her husband told her about the shooting when he got back and he claimed it was self-defense.

At this point Farr is facing several charges including 3 counts of attempted murder. Council Bluffs Police continue to investigate this case.

Channel 6 did talk to Farr’s family. They did not want to make a comment.
