Active weather will return to the area this afternoon and linger on and off through Wednesday.
Mostly cloudy skies tonight with widely scattered showers and may be a rumble of thunder. Not everyone will see it and most of it will be gone by midnight.
Monday will start off under partly sunny skies and temperatures in the lower 50s. As the day progresses expect temperatures to rise into the lower 70s which will help to fuel some more scattered showers and storms. At this time there is a slight risk for some strong to potentially severe storms Monday afternoon and evening. The best chance for strong storms will be along the Kansas border.
The active weather will linger throughout Monday night and Tuesday with on and off showers and storms. Tuesday will be noticeably cooler with highs only reaching the upper 50s followed by mid 40s on Wednesday. The storm responsible for the unsettled weather will slide away from the area late Wednesday with gradually improving conditions by Thursday. Total rainfall from Sunday afternoon through Wednesday will likely range from 1-2'' with locally higher amounts possible.
